Formatting Your Images
ZAPP requires minimally restrictive specifications to help ensure that the images uploaded to your portfolio are of high enough quality for shows to use in their jury process. These requirements exist to help you. Below are our minimum and recommended image specifications. Some applications do not collect artwork images. If the application you are completing does not require images to be submitted, you do not need to prepare and upload images to ZAPP.

Pixels, Resolution, File Size, and Black Borders

Pixels
Pixels are the smallest elements that are combined to make up an image. Pixels determine the photo's resolution. The more pixels in the image file, the higher the resolution. For ZAPP, your image needs to be at least 1400 pixels on the longest edge. You can upload images with pixel sizes larger than that — you just can't upload images with pixel sizes smaller than that requirement.

Resolution
Resolution refers to two things. The first is the number of pixels that combine to make up your image in terms of the width and height.The second piece to resolution refers to how the number of pixels are distributed. This is usually expressed as 'dots per inch' or 'pixels per inch' — dpi or ppi. When uploading your images to ZAPP, a resolution of 72 ppi is adequate for viewing your images on a computer monitor; however, if a show intends to use your image(s) to print on show directories or maps, they typically prefer images with resolutions set to 300 ppi.

File Size

Black Borders
Black borders are no longer required. A majority of the events using ZAPP jury using the monitor method, which displays artist images on a black background. The system will automatically add black borders to images that are submitted to events using the projected jury method.

Photographing Your Artwork
ZAPP encourages artists to use professional photographers to document their artwork. Using professionals helps to ensure that your digital images present your work in the best way possible, with proper lighting, image composition, and resolution. Uploading Images to ZAPP
After you have formatted your images, the next step is to upload them to your ZAPP portfolio. Video editor free online pc. Uploading images is a simple process and can be done by selecting Portfolio on the menu. The My Portfolio page allows you to upload, edit, delete, and manage your images and statements of technique.

Follow these steps to upload your images:

  1. After you log in, open the menu on the left-hand side of the screen and select Portfolio

  2. Click Upload Media. This will direct you to the upload page.

  3. Use the toggle to upload either a booth shot or an image of your artwork.

  4. Next, select Browse to upload an image file from your computer. After that, type in your Image Title and indicate if your photo is a booth shot. Fill out all bold fields. Click the Submit button to begin uploading your photo.Please note only files that meet our image quality specifications will upload to our site.

Attaching Images to the Application

At the bottom of your application are two sections. The first will display the required number of pieces the event requires in addition to whether or not artists need to include a booth shot. Once you have selected pieces of artwork for your application, they will be displayed here.

The second section displays thumbnails of the images uploaded to your portfolio. Select the images you want to add to the application and keep in mind that the order in which you select images is the order jurors will view them in. If you want to see image details, click on the title of the image.
